Youth Mission Trip to Nashville
June 25--June 30

Each year the youth of our
church go on a mission trip
to a different location in
order to demonstrate the
love of Christ to people
in need.

This year we went to
Nashville and helped to
build a house with Habitat
for Humanity and helped
to renovate a home
with Better Tomorrows.

During free time, we
also had  some FUN
taking in the sights
of Nashville.

While in Nashville, we were graciously hosted by the
members of Holy Trinity Community Church.  Thanks
to this awesome church for their great Southern
hospitality!

Habitat for Humanity

We worked with a local Habitat
for Humanity chapter in TN to
help build a home for the Holt
family.  The Holts already had
a 16 month-old daughter when
quadruplets arrived.  One of
the quadruplets was born with
cerebral palsy.  Due to
mounting medical bills and
other expenses the family lost
their home.  Now through
Habitat they will have a home
of their own, big enough for the
entire family and with special
amenities for their child with
cerebral palsy.  While there we
helped build a porch and a
wheelchair ramp, hauled away
rubbish and trash,and got to
meet the Holt family.  We also
took in the sights of local cows
and horses along with
launching air-powered rockets
out in a nearby pasture.

Better Tomorrows

We also worked with Better Tomorrows, a ministry that helps low-income people improve their lives through GED classes, literacy classes and job training.  Better Tomorrows is renovating a 150 year-old house to serve as office and classroom space.  While there, we removed wallpaper, knocked down a wall and took up, raised and re-laid a 130 foot brick sidewalk.  That's right it was 130 feet long!!!!!!

Fun!

As we do on every mission trip, we took time to have some fun together.  We visited the Opryland Hotel, Opry Mills Mall, The Rainforest Cafe, Grand Ole Golf and Go Karts and more!
