ANNUAL MEETING SUNDAY
FEBRUARY 1 AT 11:30 AM
The Annual Meeting of The Congregational Church of Manhasset will be held at 11:30 am on February 1 on Zoom. On Annual Meeting Sunday, our service will start at 10 AM as usual. However, it will be shorter than normal and there will be no fellowship time that day. This will give us time to get home and login to the Annual Meeting on Zoom.
New this year our first ANNUAL MEETING WATCH PARTY! After the service, those who attend will gather downstairs in the South Lounge to watch the Annual Meeting on a big screen TV streaming the Zoom meeting. AND we will enjoy festive food before, during, and after the Annual Meeting.

Why do we have an annual meeting? While many churches are accountable to bishops or other higher ups, in our church, we are only accountable to one another and to God. As a Congregational Church, we are a democracy electing our own church officers and passing our own budgets. We also select our own ministers when the need arises.

WOMEN AT THE WELL
SUNDAY, FEBRUARY 22 AT 11:30 AM
WATW will gather to watch a special YouTube lecture from Matt Paxton, author of Keep the Memories, Lose the Stuff. You may recognize him from the TV show Hoarders or the Emmy-nominated PBS series Legacy List with Matt Paxton. In this talk, Paxton guides us through thoughtful, practical ways to declutter—not just our homes, but our mental and emotional spaces—so that we can be more present to the life right in front of us. On February 22, we’ll watch Paxton’s lecture together and then take some time to reflect and discuss. What does beauty look like in our homes? In our daily rhythms? In our hearts? How might releasing a little clutter—physical or otherwise—help us notice the beauty already present in our lives?

If your youth is interested, please let Lori know.
