CHOIR CONCERT

Saturday, May 3 – 2:00 PM

The Chancel Choir and the Adelphi University Chorale will hold a combined spring concert at The Cathedral of the Incarnation, 36 Cathedral Ave. Garden City, NY 11530. Each choir will sing separate sets of music followed by a combined performance of Maurice Duruflé’s Requiem. Free admission.

CONFIRMATION SUNDAY
Sunday, May 4 - 10:00 AM

Confirmation Sunday is an important day in the life of our church. We have five students who will be confirmed. Join us to celebrate this milestone in their lives.

YOUTH CREATION CARE PROJECT
ReWild Long Island
Saturday, May 10 - 9:00 AM

Youth and families are invited to join us for a morning of creation care and sustainability learning at Port Washington's ReWild site. We will meet at 58 Harbor Road in Port Washington from 9 - 11. Bring work gloves if you have them. We will help out with their gardening and sustainability projects. Please let Rev. Burgess know by May 8th if your youth or family can help out for the morning.

FAMILY SUNDAY & MOTHER'S DAY SUNDAY

Sunday, May 11 - 10:00 AM

Our next Family Sunday is Mother’s Day, May 11th. Our youth will serve as ushers and read scripture. Our children will come forward for a special Mother’s Day message. During Sunday school, our children will do a special project to celebrate and give thanks for their moms! This is a special day of celebration and remembrance. Mother and daughter, Regina Paul and Polly Haas will be our featured Mother’s Day speakers. We hope that families will bring their moms and grandmoms to a meaningful day of worship together.

USPS FOOD DONATIONS SORTING
Monday, May 12 - 5:30 - 8:30 PM

Every year, the US Postal Service's "Stamp Out Hunger" Food Collection is the largest one-day food collection in the country. Fill a bag with canned vegetables, canned fruit, canned tuna, peanut butter or any other non-perishable and healthy food. (No glass.) On Saturday, May 10, your letter carrier will pick it up and deliver it to a sorting location (this is when we can volunteer). Members of our church have participated in the Stamp Out Hunger sorting project for many years. In 2024, this incredible event resulted in the distribution of more than 577,000 meals for Long Islanders facing insecurity. Donations go to Island Harvest, which will distribute them to partner agencies across Long Island.

MEN'S BREAKFAST AT LANDMARK DINER
Tuesday, May 13 - 9:00 AM

All men are invited to our monthly breakfast gatherings at the Landmark Diner. Let Rev. Only know if you plan to attend.

YOUTH CAR WASH
Saturday, May 17 - 9:00 AM - 2:00 PM

On Saturday, May 17th, all youth and older elementary kids are invited to help us out at our annual spring youth car wash. We will wash cars from 9am - 2pm in the church parking lot. All proceeds will go towards this summer's youth service trip to Fort Worth, TX, to help our neighbors in need. Donations of any size are welcome and appreciated. Please let Rev. Burgess know by May 15th if your youth or older elementary child would like to volunteer for the day.

YOUTH & PARENT SERVICE TRIP MEETING
Sunday, May 18 - 11:30 AM

On Sunday, May 18th, we will have an important student/parent meeting about the youth service trip to Houston, TX at 11:30 AM in the South Lounge. All final payments are due on this day. We will have a brief meeting, fill out some additional paperwork and discuss more in detail our service week together. We are looking forward to a wonderful week of service to help our neighbors in need in Fort Worth, TX, June 29 – July 4th.

MEMORIAL SUNDAY

Sunday, May 25 - 10:00 AM

On Memorial Sunday we will give thanks for those who perished defending our country. This is a moving service and the perfect way to remember what Memorial Day is all about. During the service, we will recognize all veterans who have joined us for the service.​

WOMEN AT THE WELL
Sunday, May 25 - 1:30 AM

On Sunday, May 25th, all women are invited to join us as watch the 2025 Oscar winner for best animated film, "Flow". Cat is a solitary animal, but as its home is devastated by a great flood, he finds refuge on a boat populated by various species, and will have to team up with them despite their differences. The film is about an hour and 20 minutes, so we will plan to meet a little longer on this day. Join us as we watch this important and timely film. All are welcome!

YOUTH & FAMILIES GAME NIGHT
Friday, May 30 - 6:00-8:00 PM

Friday, May 30th, we'll have our monthly youth and families game night in the Parish Hall. We'll meet at 6pm for a pizza supper followed by tons of fun games and activities in the gym together. Families should bring a dessert to share! Please let Rev. Burgess know if your youth or family can join us.

CONCERT FOR A CAUSE
Organ Concert Featuring Sean Cotty
Saturday, May 31 - 3:00 PM

On May 31, we’ll welcome back organist Sean Cotty for a concert in our sanctuary on Saturday, May 31 at 3:00 PM. The tentative program will include piano pieces by Chopin, organ pieces by Vierne, and Poulenc's flute sonata.Mr. Cotty serves as the Music Director at Church on the Hill in Flushing, NY. He is currently completing a masters degree in piano performance at Queens College. Formerly, he attended Ithaca College where he studied both piano performance and music education. He currently studies organ privately with organist Frank Crosio. Proceeds from the concert will go to support a worthy cause in our area. The suggested donation for the concert is $20.

This Summer
2025 Service Trip to Fort Worth, TX

Next summer, our youth will be heading to Fort Worth, TX, the week of June 29-July 4th. We will be serving for the 5th summer with the wonderful youth organization, Be the Neighbor. Our week of service this year is entitled "Refugee Welcome." We will be serving with organizations helping refugee families in various ways all over Ft. Worth.
